"I would like to extend a warm welcome to Anaesthetic training in Medway NHS Foundation Trust. We are one of the busiest District general Hospitals in Kent treating approximately 500,000 patients per year and providing excellent training opportunities. Many postgraduate doctors requesting a second placement, is a testament to our friendly, supportive, protected training programme. There are ample opportunities to develop clinical and nonclinical skills, dive in to research projects for those who wish to and to work with a great cohesive team. Pastoral care extended towards postgraduate doctors has been highly praised during the ACSA accreditation process and the exam support has been highly appreciated by the postgraduate doctors.

WHAT WE OFFER

Training for core and speciality Anaesthetics - with an engaging, supportive group of Consultants with great Educational and clinical supervision.

Clinical experience with closely supervised training lists across all subspecialties except Neuro and cardiac. We have three Advanced Training posts (Regional, pain, ICU) that provide a specific, job planned training hours with admin time included for relevant projects.

Weekly protected teaching that is closely mapped to the curriculum and a weekly journal club.

Excellent in house simulation training which includes Multidisciplinary teams for reflective and proactive learning.
