Elective Placements

UNDERGRADUATES

Medway NHS Foundation Trust has joined the many hospitals across the country that can provide UK and International students with the opportunity to observe our specialities in a clinical setting. We are already equipped to take on and provide a good experience to students thanks to our work with Kings Medical School and Kent and Medway Medical School

Thanks to our wide range of specialties we are able to offer elective opportunities in multiple different departments including:

Anaesthetics

Cardiology

Emergency Medicine

General Surgery

Geriatric and Acute Medicine

Haematology

Neonatology

Paediatrics

Respiratory Medicine

Trauma and Orthopaedics

Women’s Health

For all applicants there is an application fee of £200 to be paid once a supervisor has been found for you. This payment covers administration fees only and does not include Occupational Health Fees, Visa, Accommodation etc. Your placement will not be guaranteed by this payment and is subject to the passing of the relevant checks.

Once a placement has been found and payment made you will be asked for a range of information. This will include a TRUST ID Check, Occupational Health Clearance, Police Check Document and other relevant checks. For International Students only there is a placement fee of £50 per week.

Please be aware that regular contact is required and we reserve the right to reject an application if there isn’t sufficient communication. Also note that an application can be rejected if the relevant checks cannot be completed to a satisfactory level.
